Hi, I'm Melanie and I'm really happy to meet you soon!
Native from the area, I'm passionnate about heritage and its diversity: cultural, natural, immaterial...
Very young, I fell in love with churches! In high school I started to study the history of art and I immediately liked architecture and urbanism. What a joy to discover the city under a new eye, to understand its development. I am convinced that if we understand where we live, we feel necessarily more comfortable, better integrated. I like this social dimension.
After high school, I passed a master degree in History of Art and Architecture from the University of Poitiers, specialised in romanesque sculpture and heritage enhancement. After my degree I worked for the Tourist Office of Thouars and became manager of the conurabtion tourist development department's.
I'm found of the territory I live in, doing discover its various assets. I'm curious, I love learning new things and metting new people. In my work, I like taking time to talk around a coffee with people: most of the time, good ideas were born like this! I'm interested in creating projects with other people, go off the beaten tracks.
Now I live in a small historical village, near an old abbey. My husband is renovating the house where we live, it's his work. We are both mad about old houses with character. When I arrive in my tiny street, I immediatly fell relaxed, with the bubbing of the stream, geese and hens in my neigbhour's garden! From my window I have a nice view over the 17th century Thouars castle.
